The Digisonic® SP ABI (Auditory Brainstem Implant) brainstem implant can correct auditory problems after surgery for a bilateral acoustic neuroma.
If the auditory nerve is not intact following surgery for the removal of the tumour, a cochlear implant is of no use. The Digisonic® SP ABI has 15 stimulation channels. The electrode array is made up of a network of 15 flat electrodes with a small polyester band at the end to maintain stability in the brainstem. Digisonic® SP ABI is compatible with Digi SP processor. |
